Her employer want to close her office and disband her team, but that’s the least of her worries. Her co-worker Marnie is being harmed by malicious magic, and a local pack leader enlists her help to find out whether a magician has dragged one of his pack members into criminal activity. The search for him and the source of Marnie’s enchantment leads Izzy to a missing shaman’s pouch, the theft of a famous crystal ball and a traumatic personal attack.

When Michael tries to help Marnie, everything goes wrong and Izzy has to walk into a trap to save him. She must invoke the dead again as she and her sidekick Sam fight their way past a rogue magician and the whole clan of murderous werehyenas. to face an awful choice between having to choose between Michael and someone he loves.
