On the way to a Yule meal, she stops his car in the elven world to find a heavily pregnant young werewolf as heavily pregnant as herself. Declan and Michael won’t let her pursue when the young bitch runs off, which makes her determined to get back into Elfhame to follow the trail and find the werewolf before the fay do. She gains help from the least expected source – a senior elf working for the rulers of Elfhame - though the expedition sends her into labour.

Finding a space on a maternity unit on a full moon at Yule is a challenge that sees her end up in the wrong place, and with the wrong newborn pup. Izzy and her mates set out to find their missing pup, with the unexpected help of a female jinn. Meanwhile, her best friend Liz is on the trail of a child abuser. Between them, they uncover the history of a wartime Were-human relationship that’s left a trail of devastation across three generations.
