Pagan Parting Glass

Of all the drink that I brought here, I drank it in good company;
And any harm you think I’ve done, alas was done to none but me;
And any harm you think you did, I thankfully now can't recall,
So fill with me the parting glass, goodnight and joy be with you all.

Of all the comrades here I met, I’m sorry for your going away,
And all the friends I’ve made this time, I wish you one more day could stay,
But since it falls unto our lot that we should part and linger not,
We then should toast and make our call, goodnight and joy be with you all.

If we had time enough to spend to linger here in company,
We’d stay our lives to share our paths, and what delight that time would be.
But other things, that fill our lives, do summon us and softly call:
So fill with me the parting glass, goodnight and joy be with you all.
